Introduced in 2004, six new models in the Seamaster Aqua Terra Jewellery watch collection add a distinctive new look to the watches with diamonds or “Omega” red. All models in the collection are fitted with high-quality self-winding Omega mechanical movements housed in a stainless-steel case and come with a choice of mother-of-pearl dials and precious stone settings.
The Aqua Terra jewellery models are available in the 36.2mm and 29.2mm case diameters exclusively in brushed stainless steel with matching brushed stainless steel bracelet. All models have a stainless-steel bezel set with 51 diamonds (0.89 ct) and a ruby cabochon set into the crown.
Three different dial versions are available: white mother-of-pearl with 11 ruby hour markers (0.31 ct); red mother-of-pearl with 11 diamond hour markers (0.192 ct) and, as the pièce de résistance, a white mother-of-pearl with a diamond-paved centre zone (0.692 ct for the 36.2mm and 0.432 ct for the 29.2mm).
These jewellery watches retain the classic features of the Aqua Terra collection, including facetted dauphine hands with arrowhead minute and centre seconds hands – all with luminous Super Luminova inserts for excellent legibility. The black-on-white date window at 3 o’clock and the brushed stainless steel bracelet with foldover safety clasp are also familiar from the standard Aqua Terra collection.
Both case sizes are also fitted with proven Omega self-winding movements. For the 36.2mm case diameter, the technology is that of Omega’s proprietary Co-Axial Escapement in its original calibre 2500 incarnation.
This movement has official COSC chronometer certification and an available power reserve of 44 hours when fully wound. It also has a high-quality white rhodium-plated finish of Geneva wave décor, circular graining and gold-plated engravings. The combined benefits of the Omega Co-Axial Escapement and Omega free sprung-balance maintain the stability of the watch’s rate over much longer periods to offer excellent long-term reliability.
The smaller models use the calibre 2520 self-winding movement, which offers the same timekeeping functions and has a power reserve of 42 hours. This movement has the same luxury finish as the Co-Axial calibre and is fitted with a Glucydur balance with “Etachron” regulator assembly with precision adjustment.
In addition to benefiting from an extra sparkle, all the Aqua Terra jewellery models meet the same exacting specifications as all other models in the collection. They are fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside and, thanks to a screw-in case back, are water resistant to 150 metres / 500 feet.
