Chopard Haute Joaillerie Collection, 2008

Every single creation from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie collection is born from the imagination of Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, company co-president and head of design. Passionately dedicated to her art, she draws inspiration from her world travels to sublimate the noblest gemstones and metals.

The process begins in her mind and the ideas are then translated onto paper, with the support of the talented designers in the Haute Joaillerie department. This love of beauty and excellence drives her on a tireless quest for the exceptional stone that will set a unique and decisive touch to the pieces in the brand’s constantly renewed collections. Such creative work never static, as Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele sometimes finds a splendid stone during her peregrinations and then uses that a basis for designing the piece of jewellery that will set it off to its best advantage.

The finesse of the gemstones and the boundless creativity of Chopard’s co-president are vividly reflected in the rigorous and meticulous hand-crafted execution of the jewellery. Set by top jewellers working in a hushed serene workshops environment, the creations gradually spring into vibrant life. It is there that breathtaking natural splendours and human creative genius unite to give rise to exceptional models.

Under the craftsmen’s nimble fingers the magic begins to weave its spell, colours and materials intertwining and stones gradually evolving into treasures. Having become a stunning reality, often after hundreds of hours of work, the dreams of Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele now radiate the dazzling assurance of luxurious and fabulous adornments.
