Eberhard & Co. Chrono 4 GRANDE TAILLE

The new chronograph version of GRANDE TAILLE from Eberhard & Co., the CHRONO4 GRANDE TAILLE matches perfectly the most recent trend towards over sized watches. It is available in a sportive version in stainless steel or in red gold for those that prefer the elegance of precious metals. The generously dimensional case (Ø 43mm) hides a mechanical movement with automatic winding. Like all the other Chrono4 models by Eberhard & Co. it is characterized by an exclusive feature: its four counters are arranged in a horizontal row, which makes reading the time a logical and consequent operation. The display follows a natural progression of time: minutes and hours hand, 24 hours and small seconds hand.

This revolutionary device, Patent Pending, developed by Eberhard & Co. in many years of research, is based on a remarkable overall construction that could only be materialised by a leading watch-making enterprise. Just think of the fact that no less than 53 rubies are at work here to get an idea of how refined this movement is.CHRONO4 GRANDE TAILLE is innovative not only because of its present size, but also because of the scrupulous care expended on all details on which the Maison has always attached great importance.

A special feature of the CHRONO 4 GRANDE TAILLE, steel version, is the use of rubber not only in the crown with an “E” in relief, standing for Eberhard, but also in the push buttons where the material adorns the circumference. In the red gold version, the rubber is used only for the crown.CHRONO 4 GRANDE TAILLE is protected by a non-reflecting sapphire glass, and it is water-resistant up to 3 or 5 atm, depending on the version.

The stainless steel variant is available with a black rubber strap featuring as a special adornment an “E“ in relief on the side, the well-known emblem of the Maison. Thered gold version has a crocodile leather strap with a buckle in 18 ct. red gold.

About Chrono 4
Chrono 4 is the first chronograph in the history of watchmaking whose counters are arranged in one row. It’s a genuine innovation both aesthetically and functionally, and it’s a real revolution also from a technical point of view. So far, the world has never seen a dial whose minute, hour, 24-hour and small-second counters were arranged horizontally abreast of one another. It’s a totally new arrangement, and graphically neat. It facilitates read-off and makes it more logical.

Technologically speaking, the new device by Eberhard & Co. is not only the revolutionary outcome of years of research but it has endowed the whole trade with an admirable self-contained device that could be engineered only by a Maison of sufficient size and potential. To really imagine the refinement of the movement, one only has to consider the 53 rubies it “works” with.

Chrono 4 never ceases to amaze for its innovation and its details. As a result between study and fine technique, it becomes “Bellissimo”, a chronograph that perfectly mixes aesthetics and technique. Made with particular care, the case structure – with soft and rounded lines – is available with locked as well as with sapphire glass caseback. The collection is enriched by a precious édition special.

The “Coeur Vitré” version available only to order, is made in steel or 18 ct pink gold. An exclusive model with a precious “heart”: its refined movement, finely hand crafted with spiral motifs, can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback, as well as the special oscillating weight, a little jewel in 21 ct white or pink gold, worked in dexterous detail, adopting the stylised motif of the four counters.
