Egérie. A name full of mystery, conjuring up a distant past, a symbol of charm and seduction. In Roman mythology, the nymph Egérie was associated with births and springs. According to tradition, she lavished her wise advice on King Numa Pompilius who succeeded Romulus, and became a legendary source of inspiration to the art world, as well as shrewd adviser to politicians and muse to poets and writers.

The Egérie collection’s appeal lies in its range of interpretation; a bezel that’s been polished or inset with brilliant cut diamonds accentuating a ripple patterned guilloche-ornamented dial, or paved all over, presented in a diamond-adorned case.
The Egérie collection has selected 18 carat yellow or white gold for its precious metals. A see-through caseback allows the delicate Vacheron Constantin 1400 gauge hand-wound movement and its outstanding finishing to be admired.
Wand-shaped hands, 18 carat gold appliqué numerals and indices liven up the delicately guilloche-ornamented dial, protected by domed sapphire crystals. The crown is enhanced with a Maltese cross, the company’s corporate symbol since 1880. The case is water-resistant up to 30 metres.
This movement reveals exceptional features. It includes 20 rubies and a balance that moves at a rate of 28,800 semi-oscillations an hour. It has a power reserve of 40 hours. It is also stamped with the Geneva hallmark, a symbol of quality and superior workmanship issued by the selective Geneva Watch Control Office exclusively for movements produced in Geneva’s finest workshops.
A movement of this quality not only requires vast professional experience but also extraordinary patience, as exhibited by an experienced watchmaker who assembles and adjusts it one component at a time, finally regulating the mechanism slowly and deliberately with the superior expertise that this entails.
The Egérie collection also is expanded with a complete range of Vacheron Constantin 1202 quartz movement watches in a standard 18K yellow or white gold case with different settings.
Egérie models have an original strap silk-like fabric considerably more resistant than silk and available in sand, blue-grey, plum or deep black colours. The tongue buckle, also in 18K gold, is in the shape of a half Maltese cross, either polished or in a pave version set with stones.
