Waltham Lone Eagle Classic

Harking back to the magical early days of aviation and to “those magnificent men in their flying machines”, the Waltham Lone Eagle Classic offers connoisseurs a special treat in the shape of a classic model propelled by a tried and tested hand-wound movement.

Introduced in 2007 in tribute to aviation history and to one of its most eminent figures, Charles Lindbergh, aka the Lone Eagle, this entire collection enshrines the same commitment to technical perfection and impeccable accuracy that guided such gifted pioneering individuals in their quest for heroic achievements.

Entirely crafted in platinum, the 45 mm case of Waltham Lone Eagle Classic is topped by a cambered sapphire crystal glare-proofed on the inside, and also features a transparent case back enabling one to admire the richly decorated movement. Beneath the simple appeal of its classic pilot’s watch design, it conceals a mechanical hand-wound movement, IWC Calibre 952, driving the hour, minute and small seconds hands. Offset at 9 o’clock, the latter counter confirms the vintage appeal of this sleek and understated model with the symbolic Waltham trademarks of the fan-shaped lugs and knurled winding-crown.

Issued in a symbolic limited edition of 8 for the year 2008 and proudly evoking the period between the 1920s and 1940s when aviation was just getting off the ground, this distinguished timekeeping companion is fitted with a crocodile leather strap secured by a white gold folding clasp.
