Casio has released two commemorative G-SHOCK models, with designs reminiscent of the popular G-SHOCK models of the past, but appearing for the first time ever in white, gold and black.
The watches are commemorative models to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first G-SHOCK shock-resistant watch coming up in May 2008.
Casio has been redefining the wristwatch since 1983, when the first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000, was introduced. The two models selected for reproduction for the 25th anniversary — both classic G-SHOCK watches originally released in the 1980s — confidently represent Casio’s history of revolutionary wristwatches.
The new G-SHOCK DW-5025B features a square watch face based on the original DW-5000, while the G-SHOCK DW-5725B has a circular shape similar to the original DW-5700. Bringing back early G-SHOCK elements like the screw back case and classic watch face design, both new 25th anniversary watches boast a truly commemorative look and feel.
The two new models come in white, with special black accents for the LCDs and gold for the buckles, buttons, case back, and lettering on the LCDs.
As a special touch, a 25th-anniversary logo by the world renowned graphic artist, Eric Haze, is engraved on the gleaming gold back of the case, and also appears on the product package.
