CORUM Admiral’s Cup Challenge 44 Regatta Limited Edition

As the name suggests this outstanding CORUM Admiral’s Cup watch is dedicated to Sailing and Regatta events.

Thanks to its split-seconds chronograph function, this timepiece can display several intermediate times and is the ideal partner for key moments of a regatta. The Regatta results from the perfect integration of a 13 ¼’’’ self-winding movement, the COSC-certified CO-986 developed for CORUM by La Joux Perret on a Valjoux base, in the model’s distinctive 12-sided case.

The dial is engine-turned in a hobnail pattern. The originally shaped chronograph has the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 and the running seconds at 9. The rings framing the three sub dials are in applied gold, as are the chevrons and the 60 at 12 o’clock.

The trademark 12 coloured pennants are painted on the dial rim. Four hands turn about the centre: the hours and minutes – luminescent, and the chronograph hands – one in gold and the other, red. The indications share the space in a unique balance.

CORUM Admiral’s Cup Challenge 44 Regatta Limited Edition

This new CORUM Admiral’s Cup Challenge 44 Regatta watch is a blend of red gold and rubber. The screw-in crown with a double-notched grip is protected by an extension of the case in vulcanised rubber, as is the button at 8 o’clock that controls the split-seconds hand in red. The two rocking buttons at 2 and 4 o’clock, hinged in the same rubber protection, are precisely centred on the lugs, underlining the symmetry of the watch.

The bracelet, integrated in the case, is an amalgam of red gold and rubber links. The buckle, a mechanical-fastening triple folding clasp, was designed and produced exclusively for CORUM.

This concentration of clean lines, precision and luxury has been produced in a limited edition of 600. CORUM chose the first watch of the series to support once again the Only Watch 2007 charity auction for the Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy.

The 2007 sale brought together unique pieces from 35 prestigious brands and raised €2,756,500 for research against a disease that afflicts more than 30,000 children, mainly boys, in Europe alone.
