Introduced in 2007, the Seiko Ignition SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM Model SBHP023 is a stainless steel quartz chronograph with a carbon fiber dial. Limited to just 200 pieces, its retail price in Japan is 157,500 yen (including tax). Released in Sep 2007 in Japan, this timepiece is a result of collaboration between Japanese Formula 1 racing team SUPER AGURI F1 and its official watch partner, Seiko.
Equipped with the Seiko Quartz caliber 7T82, this timepiece is capable for measuring stop watch function with a precision of up to 1/100th of a second. The 1/100 second chronograph hand at 12 o’clock rotates 10 times per second. This function perfectly expresses the world of Formula 1, where 1/100th of a second is the ultimate pursuit of speed.
The Seiko Ignition SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM SBHP023 watch features a partly hard-coated stainless steel measuring 46.7mm in diameter. The distortion-free mirror surface of the side of the case, which has been polished using the traditional Zaratsu polishing technique, gives the streamlined form an even more speedy impression.
The advanced material “carbon fiber (carbon fiber reinforced resin)” used everywhere in F1 machines is used for the dial. The transparent film on the surface of the carbon fiber creates a glossier and deep feeling, and enhances its F1 inspired aesthetics.
The dial and back cover have the double logos of Seiko and SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM. The steel case-back also features the limited edition serial number (001/200 to 200/200). This exclusive timepiece comes in a special box with an official certificate signed by Aguri Suzuki, the team representative, certifying that it is an official watch of SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM.
