IWC Schaffhausen Grande Complication Watch Ref. IW3770 with Modified Dials

Introduced in 1990, the IWC Grande Complication is a watch of superlatives. It incorporates 659 individual parts (including 75 jewels) for driving the perpetual calendar, moon phase , chronograph and minute repeater functions.

The Grande Complication from IWC Schaffhausen qualifies as one of the most intricate mechanical wristwatches in the world. Its production is strictly limited: a maximum of 50 examples are built each year. The exquisite mechanism of the Grande Complication (ref. 3770) is packaged only in fine cases made of 950-standard platinum or 18 ct gold. A few years back, the Swiss manufacture unveiled new dial designs for the IWC Ref. IW3770 Grande Complication watch.

There are four dial variants, one in yellow gold, one in rose gold and two in platinum, with a modified dial and hands. In these three variants, the hours and minutes are indicated by Dauphine-style hands in the same colour as the case, and the remaining seven hands are slender bar hands.

The IWC Grande Complication yellow gold version featured above has a silver-plated dial with golden indices. The silvered dial is now also available in a platinum case. Both models are supplied with a black crocodile leather strap.

The colours of the third addition are very discreet. Here a black dial is combined with the lustrous shine of the platinum case. Even the moon phase display blends well into this harmony of colour. The IWC Grand Complication in rose gold features rose-gold hands and applied rose-gold baton hour markers.

These watches come with the choice of black crocodile leather strap and solid precious metal bracelet with its fine links.
